Full Job Description

We’re seeking a Sales Account Manager to support our Northern Sales Region. This is an experienced sales professional with product and market knowledge who focuses on Value-Based Selling. The Account Manager manages a specific portfolio of existing and prospective accounts inside a defined geographic area. The incumbent cultivates relationships and identifies opportunities to achieve business objectives.

Sales Account Manager Essential Functions:

  • Creates and maintains proper relationships with customers and internal functional groups, achieving an understanding of expressed and implied needs.
  • Resolves internal and external customer issues and/or concerns, demonstrating exceptional problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrates a value-based selling approach.
  • Negotiates and administers supply agreements/contracts.
  • Uses CRM and other tools to communicate knowledge of assigned customers, the markets within which they participate, the associated supply chains and the overarching competitive landscape, recommending profitability strategies.
  • Demonstrates continuous active engagement through contribution of creative ideas.

Sales Account Manager Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree* in Business or Technical field
  • 5+ years of full time work experience with a track record of success in current role
  • Previous negotiation experience preferred
  • Self-starter that is adaptive to change possessing the resourcefulness needed to overcome unexpected challenges
  • Good time management skills with a strong bias for action and ability to independently plan and complete work
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal effectiveness
  • Ability to travel 20-50% of time, usually overnight – travel level varies with assigned accounts
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point), video conferencing software; Sales Force (CRM) experience preferred
  • A Valid US Driver’s license
  • Prior Olin experience strongly preferred
